Alzheimers Care

Alzheimer’s disease is a neurological disorder that de-generates the nervous system in the body. The disease generally affects older people and the symptoms are speech dysfunction, vibration of the arms, memory loss and other symptoms.

Taking care of an Alzheimer patient calls for a great deal of love, sacrifice, and patience. A patient will show irritability, anxiousness apart from other symptoms. We need to treat them with love and care because they are the ones who have helped build this beautiful world  we live in. There are many organizations in which take care of Alzheimer patients. In America,  one of the more famous one is the Alzheimer Association (http://www.alz.org) which takes care of elderly people suffering from the disease. The services offered by them include educating volunteers on the disease and caring techniques, 24/7 helpline support, publications and other support services.

Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (http://www.alzfdn.org ) is another association which offers relentless service to the people suffering from the disease. It offers services similar to the ones mentioned above.

The 21st September of each year is World Alzheimer’s Day. On this day each year individuals and associations pledge their support to fight the disease and help those who are suffering from the disease. Drug companies are putting their best efforts to bring hope into the lives of millions of people suffering from the disease. Novartis, the Swiss pharmaceutical giant spends billions of dollars in research and development to develop drugs for Alzheimer and for education purposes. There are still no drugs which can cure Alzheimers.

It will be difficult for a person to handle the initial phase after the discovery of the disease. It is always advisable to discuss the problem with people who are affected with Alzheimer. Medical and Financial Planning is also very important because the treatment of the disease can put a strain on the financial resources of the family. Getting legal advice to plan your future will also help to a great extent. Associations mentioned in this article will also be of considerable help.
Our world is a beautiful place. There are thousands who will offer selfless help to sufferers of Alzheimer. We need not break down if we hear that Alzheimer has affected us. Proper care and medication will help us enjoy life for many years. Let’s live life with the hope that there is always light at the end of a tunnel.
