Elder care Professionals are a group of experienced, elder care workers dedicated to preserving the optimal quality of life for older and disabled adults. As the elderly population is increasing, families are presented with new challenges in caring for their loved ones.

Elder care Professionals offer help with expertise and compassion and provide a comprehensive assessment of the older adult needs and at the same time create an individualized plan that addresses and maximizes the physical and emotional well being of your loved one

Elder care Professionals and professional companies assist you in short and long term decision making, arranging for the proper specialists, coordinating services, and managing all aspects of the care plan. Such organizations are committed to help provide the best supportive care either at home or in a residential setting.

Elder care Professionals are required for a multitude of services for the aged and the disabled or ailing senior citizens. They are therefore trained to perform such special tasks. The tasks performed by Elder care Professionals can be categorized into the following two major categories:

  (a)      Medical Services Professionals
   
  (b)      Non Medical Service Professionals

Medical Services Professionals    These professionals are trained in providing the required medical assistance to the elderly patients. The kinds of services provided under this head are of two types based on the location where this service is rendered. In house physicians and the Skilled Home Healthcare are the two heads and the difference between the two is evident. Where the patient is not able to be moved all service is provided at home itself which includes services of a doctor, a nurse , a house cleaner cum cook and even a driver where required.

Non Medical Service Professionals     These as the term suggests is the assistance provided which is non medical in nature and are basically to assist the elder in his day to day and specialized requirements. These include the following :

Companion Service   Basically to keep the elderly company in house or outdoors. Proficiency in the language the elder speaks his psychological make up and knowledge of his emotional triggers is essential knowledge.

Respite Care   As the name suggests it is a short term service provided to the family looking after the elder to give some respite or what is a break from elder care to the family at the same time ensuring continued care for the elder. Professionals take over charge and give the family a chance to take time off.

Phone Reassurance Visits   Such Professionals are trained in providing guidance, solace, and support to the elders on the telephone. Another extension of such a service is visits by Professionals to elders on required basis.

In home Personal Assistants   These are Professionals trained to take over all in home requirements and provide 24/7 assistance to the elders.
